“ Clean restaurant with about ten tables for seating. You order at the counter then get a number, wait for them to call your number and then go get your food at the counter. Simple. It's healthy food, a lot of chicken and rice dishes. But the wowza here for me is their chicken burrito, which comes with an amazing ginger cilantro sauce that brings the flavor profile to a whole new dimension. ”
“ This is one of my favorite places to eat while on business the chicken is always so juicy and they are very generous with the portion sizes, the broths are so tasty I've even tried to replicate them at home without much success I must admit. The food is always so fresh and healthy and will keep you're tummy full for the day ”

The quality and consistency of the rice, chicken, egg is outstanding. The texture is a cross between a rice porridge and hearty soup. I think if you're hungry you'll need to add a spring roll to complete the meal. ”

It feels healthier since it's just chicken, rice, a few slices of cucumber, and sauce, but you don't have to compromise on flavor. I get the original, sometimes with all thigh meat. I love the original sauce which is salty & a bit vinegary, but I've also had their hot sauces which are a fun addition. It can get very busy during lunch so probably plan to order ahead, but after the rush they have a good bit of indoor seating. Casual and clean space. Definitely going again... would have it every week if I could... ”
“ Honestly, incredibly surprised by this. I've had Chicken rice at franchise locations before and they have always been hit or miss. But I love chicken rice So when I was working downtown and saw this place on Uber eats, I was determined. Since this was delivered I can't really speak to the service or ambiance, but I can say that it arrived promptly. I got the original chicken breast, with an egg and tofu. The egg comes runny, which I know can be a deterrent for some, but I love it. The tofu on the other hand was a little plain. Having lived in Asia I was sort of expecting the smoked soy sauce tofu that usually comes with Chicken rice. However the star of the show is the chicken. It can often be dry, especially if it's being delivered, but it was still moist by the time it arrived. Side note their KMG sauce is amazing and pairs perfectly with just about everything. ”

I ordered The Original (breast and thigh with skin, fragrant chicken rice, cucumber, cilantro, KMG sauce, side of chicken broth). It was $15.95, around $18 with tax. The chicken is very juicy and tender. The rice is fluffy and flavourful and the sauce adds a much needed gingery kick! I also really appreciate the hot cup of broth. Service is extremely quick and there are 8 tables, making it a great spot to pick up a quick lunch or sit down and eat. Love! ”
“ Stopped in for a quick lunch and wasn't sure what to expect. There were a few people sitting in the eating area so thought let's try. Ordered the original chicken and it comes with poached chicken, rice, cucumber, savory sauce, and a side of chicken broth. Was definitely very tasty and the sauce and broth complimented the meal perfectly. Ambiance was clean with plenty of seating. Service was also very quick. If you are wondering whether to try it or not definitely check it out! ”
“ Rooster & Rice is one of the original chicken rice chains in San Francisco. It's been years since I've visited one and its gotten quite pricey for what you get. I ordered "The Original" but opted for all thigh meat instead of a combination of thigh and breast. As I was aiming to have this meal for two meals, I opted for extra chicken and extra rice, bringing my total to $27. If you can ignore the fact that you're paying close to $30 for chicken and rice, the meal is quite good. The meat is tender, the sauce is good, and the rice is very flavorful without tasting greasy. The broth on the side is a nice way to round out the meal as well. This spot gets quite busy during the lunch rush so do yourself a favor and order online in advanced to streamline the pickup. ”
